You snuggled deeper into the feather pillow, before jolting awake.
“Who, wha-“ You looked around wildly, before taking a deep breath, remembering yesterdays events.
“Morning.” You looked over at Arthur, who was sitting in the window seat, gently smiling at you.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” you asked hotly, and Arthur shrugged.
“You’ve got a big day ahead of you, shopping with Maria and Eliza.” Was all he said before walking out of the room. You blinked, and then shook your head, getting out of your comfy bed to get dressed.
“(Name)!” You smiled; scooping up the 7 year old bundle of vampirec happiness known as Peter (you meet him last night and instantly fell in love with him). “Eliza said you’re going shopping.”
“Yup!” you nodded, carrying him down the stairs to the dining room.
“Do ya think I could go?” he asked eagerly.
“You’d have to ask you mother.” You stopped outside the door, blinking as you herd Willow and Alistair argue, their voices overlapping each other.
“For god sakes, I need to get out!” Willow shouted.
“Your 7 months pregnant, you need to rest!” Alistair had shouted back with just as much force.
“Guys…” Eliza’s voice was cut off by Maria.
“Just let her go!” you had opened the door, and saw the ravenett glaring at the red head. “We’ll send her back if she gets tired.” When nobody answered, she narrowed her eyes farther, till they both nodded.
“Good.” She nodded, and then noticing you said happily, “(name), good morning!”
“M-morning.” You replied. ‘Damn her mood changes fast.’
“What’s all this shouting about?” Dylan had walked into the dining room, rubbing his eyes, followed by Seamus, Arthur and Camilla.
“Nothing.” Maria looked at her husband, with a look that said ‘I’ll tell you later.’
“Mom!” Peter jumped out of your arms, running to the tall blonde. “Mom, can I go out with (Name) and everyone else?” Camilla scooped him up, with a questing look on her pale face.
“Why don’t you want to stay here?”
“Cuz Alistair, Dylan, Seamus and Arthur are jerks to me!” You winced as Camilla shot her 4 other sons a death glare, and they all thru there’s hands up in the air.
“Mum, its brotherly nature to be mean to the youngest.” Arthur mumbled. Camilla gave them the ‘Your-so-dead-in-5-minunts’ look, then let Peter jump out of her arms.
“Of course you can go.” She said sweetly and Peter let out a happy ‘yay!’
“(Name)!” Eliza clapped her hands together after Camilla had literary dragged the 4 older Kirklands out of the room. “Shove some toast down your throat or something cuz we gotta go.”
After one insanely fast toast eating moment later, you, Maria, Eliza, Willow and Peter we’re in the back of the carriage, driving off into the heart of London.
“So, what do you think of Arthur?” Willow asked.
“Uh-“ You really hadn’t thought of him that much. “Well I think he’s um…good looking?” Willow smiled at you.
“I suppose your right.”
“So, how did you meet Alistair?” you quickly asked, not wanting to answer any more questions. Willows face went slightly red, while Maria and Eliza snickered.
“Alistair used to sneak out every night to see Willow.” Eliza had cut the red head off.
“And once it was time to choose, he went straight to Willow without seeing any other girls.” Maria had finished.
“Mommy wasn’t very happy when she found out.” Peter had added as an afterthought.
“So what?” Willow asked. Then after a moments silence added, “Why don’t you two tell your stories?”
“OK!” Eliza chirped happily. “ since I was third, I was absolutely terrified of Maria, best friends with Willow, wanted to get to know Seamus better and thought Arthur and Peter where the cutesiest things to ever walk on this planet.” You blinked, and then turned towards Maria.
“She was terrified of you?”
“Maria never really talked much in her first 3 months.” Peter spoke up. “She scared all of us.”
“Then why did Dylan Choose you?”
“I think because he wanted someone to balance out his life.” Maria chose her words carefully. “Like yin and yang. “
“Do you know why Arthur chose you?” Willow asked.
“W-well.” You paused, and then took a deep breath. “I was-still am-and orphan. My parents had died when I was 5 and Arthur had told me that ‘he didn’t want me to be alone anymore.’” You looked around the carriage, and well, Eliza looked like she wanted to cry, which kind of freaked you out.
“We’ll be your new family forever (Name)!” Peter had wrapped his arms about you and you smiled.
‘This is insane!’ you thought, letting out a groan when Eliza ran into another store. You, seeing as how you were the whole reason for this trip, were carrying 4 bags, all holding 3 dressed, 2 boxes, which had a pair of shoes in each, and a parcel, which contained a book as Willow had bought you after seeing you looking at it in the display case. Maria was carrying Peter and Willow was walking besides the pair, talking.
“Can we please be done!?” you called, and Eliza shook her head.
“2 more stores then were done.” She replied. You groaned again. Maria looked back at you, then turned towards Eliza.
“Let’s just head back.” She said. “(Name) doesn’t need any more clothes and she’s exhausted.” Eliza looked back at you, then nodded. You let out a sigh of relief, and as soon as the carriage came back, you threw the bags in, then yourself in.
“I-I don’t ever want to do that again.” You grumbled once everyone was safely in.
“It wasn’t that bad.” Eliza looked around. “Was it?”
“No, (Name) is just not used to your way of ‘shopping’.” Willow replied, glancing at you.
“At least you have clothes now!” Peter said, and you feebly nodded.
“Ya…” Maria rolled her eyes, then looked out the window.
“So, how was your day?” Arthur asked you, an ice pack on the top of his head.
“Exhausting.” You replied, smiling at your handiwork. You had just finished putting everything in the closet, glanced back at Arthur. “I thought vampires heal really fast.”
“They do.” He mumbled. “Mum just hits us over and over till it takes us forever to heal.”
“I see.” You collapsed onto the bed, smirking as Arthur winced from the slight bounce. “So, are we going to go out tomorrow, or am I going with Camellia?”
“You’re going out with me.” Arthur replied. ‘Good’ you thought. Hell, you wanted to get to know Arthur, now that you meet the family. “You get to sleep luv, while I’m going to try to sleep.”
“Good night then.” You rolled over, blowing out the candle on the bedside table.
